About Steve MaderaSTEVE MADERA - MUSICALLY - Steve Madera is a dj, producer, and remixer from San Francisco Bay, West Coast California. He has been playing deep, vocal, soulful, house music for the last 11 years now and has been recognized by the underground house music community all over the world. This love affair with house music began back in 1998, and so the story begins... Growing up in San Jose, CA, Steve began playing records back in 1995, at the age of 16. Mostly hip hop, old school Coolio, Da Brat, Notorious BIG, Tupac, Warren G., Dr. Dre, Dogg Pound, Snoop Dogg, just to name a few. For a time, it was good as Steve was booked weekly at such a young age to perform at underground hip hop parties throughout the South Bay Area. Then, in 1998, something changed all of that. Steve was introduced to a House Music Radio Show on San Francisco station 106.1 KMEL FM. The show was called "Yo Mamas House" hosted by Foxxee Brown, and it aired every Friday night from 1am-6am. It was incredible! The feelings felt by the house music being played on the local airwaves was unlike anything Steve had ever heard before. And so the roots are planted... Following the radio show every week, Steve began to recognize the sound provided by the dj's David Harness, Pete Avila, and Patrick Wilson. Soon he began purchasing these records of the same genre of house music, just to see what would happen if he took his hip hop skills and utilized them with underground house music. Almost from the start it was a love affair! Almost every day Steve would practice and continue purchasing new house music records. To date the record collection is HUGE, and we have not even started on digital yet. One major influence in Steve's world of house music was and still is DJ David Harness. Foxxee Brown, the "Yo Mamas House" host, introduced Steve to Taboo, Davids weekly at Liquid in San Francisco. From the start Steve was hooked, attending the party every week on Tuesday nights until the end in August 2007! "Foxxee, Taboo and David Harness are what I owe my success to!" From 1999 - Present, Steve has played all over San Francisco Bay and beyond. He has played side along some well recognized dj's as well and many who are not but certainly deserve recognition! To name a few - Anita Lofton, DJ Von, DJ Cans, Sharon Buck, Mark Farina, David Harness, Rahiem Jihad, Luis Radio, Robert Romo, Roger Moorehouse, Judd Xavior, Wen Davis, Spacelotus, Dave Nikel, Stephen Rigmaiden, Hans Gruver, Mystic, Carlos Gibbs, Colombo, DJ DC, Julian Flores, Jason Tokita, Tony Tryst, Ju-Ze, Joey Webb, Martin Aquino, Freshstep, Soul Provider! Steve has also taken his talent worldwide with Internet Radio as well. From 2004-2006, he operated a radio show through Live 365 called Bay Area Underground! In 2007 he began a residency with Radioexplore.org, hosted by Spacelotus. The show was broadcast every other Thursday all the way live from San Francisco. Also, Steve has played at venues all over the world, including San Francisco California, Oakland California, San Jose California, Campbell California, Rio De Janeiro Brazil, Amsterdam The Netherlands, and Chicago Illinois! Due to a new career path in the Aviation Industry, Steven is now focused on creating a weekly Podcast or Internet Radio show, featuring guest dj's from all over the Bay Area and Beyond. In the meantime, thanks for listening and subscribing. Enjoy the music!! Followers
